Job Description:

A globally respected, South African based company that specialises in Electrical & Electronic Manufacturing and is consistently at a leading position of developments in modern electronic technology is looking for a Technical Author.

Ideal candidate: National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or tertiary qualification in the technical/engineering field; 3+years’ experience in Technical Writing within the Manufacturing environment; strong technical writing skills.

Position details:
Type: 12 Month Contract
Reports to: Industrialisation Manager
Job description / core competencies:

• Compile work, inspection and test instructions within approved format, content and applicable standards.
• Maintenance of instructions and manuals.
• Compiling Standard Operating Procedures.
• Capturing and manipulating photos to be used in instructions.
• Practical knowledge of photography.
• Creating production flow diagrams.
• Must be computer literate in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook, Internet, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Photoshop.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Must have the ability to work independently.
• A positive attitude, self-motivated and reliable.
