Job Description:
Our client currently has an opportunity for a Quality Assurance Inspector / Manager to be responsible for ensuring that the processes needed for the QMS are established and maintained, monitoring of internal and external quality assurance and control, transparent reporting on the performance of the QMS and any quality issues to senior leadership
Position details:
Management
Conduct inspection as per the designs from consultant engineers to ensure that designs are fit for purpose.
Ensure contractors adhere to standards and regulations.
Key duties
Responsible for the development and maintenance of a uniform, high caliber capability within Quality Assurance environment.
Conduct inspection as per the designs from consultant engineers to ensure that designs are fit for purpose.
Monitoring of construction activities, performing inspections, witness tests and measurements.
Ensure correct material is being used.
Ensure quality on the treatment of the material (mechanical).
Factory inspection: to see if the product fits the design drawings.
Welding inspection (CJP & PJP welding).
Corrosion protection surveillance, inspection, and clearance.
Data book compilation and handover to client.
Mechanical installation inspection. (Slag Cleaning Furnace, Pumps, Heat Exchangers).
Structural installation inspection.
Piping, Tank installation inspection. (LP screwed and butt-welded piping).
Mechanical installation inspection. (Slag Cleaning Furnace, Pumps, Heat Exchangers).
Conduct a factory release: to ensure that material is according to standard before dispatch to site.
Personnel development and welfare of staff.
Administration
Survey analysis
Non-destructive analysis
Review of documentation e.g. QCPs, data books, drawings etc
Technical
Ensure company procedures/systems are established and maintained for Quality Assurance.
Travel requirements: Frequent travel to site Polokwane / Rustenburg / Swartklip

Job Qualification & Experience:
Qualifications
Senior Certificate
A qualification in a technical Artisan trade with N4 (Mechanical Engineering) or equivalent
Quality auditing training/qualification will be advantageous
Valid Driver’s License
Experience
Min. 5 years’ experience in engineering & construction environment
Project quality management experience (engineering/ manufacturing/ construction)
Implementation of ISO 9001
