Experienced Maintenance Team Leader with a demonstrated history of working in the utilities industry. Take full responsibility for maintenance activities and projects (plan, execute & troubleshoot on a plant) in the area.
A strategic partner in energy management for major blue-chip companies. Operates and maintains its clients’ energy and utility plants. The company’s primary focus is the management of energy plants in the form of boiler houses using a variety of fuels (biomass to coal), with an emphasis on uptime and efficiency of the various assets. The company works with a number of industrial facilities nationwide to improve operational efficiency and reliability. Run the maintenance program scheduling for clients, and work closely with the clients’ Engineering Managers, Safety and SHEQ Mangers. Skilled in RCM, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Electrical Equipment, Electrical Troubleshooting, and Facility Management (FM). Strong operations professional. Be responsible for managing the Electrical Construction Maintenance function with a team of artisans and support staff to mentor and guide.

Primary purpose: Run the maintenance program scheduling for clients, and work closely with the clients Engineering Managers, Safety and SHEQ Mangers. Be responsible for managing the Electrical Construction Maintenance function with a team of artisans and support staff to mentor and guide.
Job description / core competencies:
To be based in Port Elizabeth and to look after their clients’ operational sites for PE, Uitenhage and Humansdorp. Weekly travel to clients sites will be required.
GMR2.1 responsibilities and qualified to work on single and three phase electrical equipment.
The Maintenance Team Leader will be responsible for managing the Electrical Construction Maintenance function with a team of artisans and support staff to mentor and guide.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for the continual training of staff through apprentice programs and other formal training programmes
based on the business’s need.

Job Qualification & Experience:
Skilled in RCM, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Electrical Equipment, Electrical Troubleshooting, and Facility Management (FM). Strong operations professional.
A Graduate engineer (Electrical Preferred) or National Diploma (Electrical Preferred). GCC Government Certificate of Compliance would be advantageous.
Experience/exposure of/to maintenance management systems and a technical understanding of both the mechanical and electrical systems in a Plant environment.
Experience in energy and steam generation plant, fuel (coal, HFO, biomass) management, water treatment will be highly advantageous.
Experience on control systems and burners.
Ability to manage staff.
Good interpersonal skills to support working with contractor personnel at all levels and clients.
Some understanding of the OSHAct, in particular, the Construction Regulations.
Good working knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
Exhibit a good command of the English language (speak, read, write).
Be motivated by challenging circumstances.
Be a self-starter and take initiative.
Be prepared to undergo further training or studies.
Good command of English (Speak, read, write).
Be willing to work extended hours and travel at short notice as the need arises.
Have a reliable vehicle and a valid driver’s license.
