1. Primary purpose of current/most recent position:

Spearhead, at a national scale, the organisation’s engagements with the forestry sector in South Africa’s 22 strategic water source areas. Represent the organisation on policy issues related to forestry and freshwater conservation. Mobilises public-private-partnerships to improve environmental sustainability and water resource management.

2. Core elements or functions that must operate effectively in order to achieve primary purpose:

Create highly strategic relationships in the forestry sector to enable integrated water resource management, stewardship and environmental management systems, in line with legislation, policy and certification standards. Instigated and managed multi-stakeholder partnerships and projects and support communication at all levels (written and verbal). Facilitate technical knowledge transfer to build capacity in the sector.
